The active standby screen of Symbian doesn't look that good. Sure, you can use themes and set a background picture, but don't you want more shortcut icons for quick access to the programs you use often, and maybe some personalised menus instead of the traditional 12 icon grid?
GDesk lets you design your own Symbian homescreen, or you can simply download designs from others.
GDesk eats a lot of memory, but if your phone has memory aplenty, go get GDesk from gdesk.wetpaint.com.
