Lost and found: Google Maps GPS-less location finder more accurate

Google Maps
No GPS? Google Maps can more or less calculate where you are from the nearby cell phone tower signals by cell tower triangulation.

What's new? Google Maps uses a new algoritm that calculates both your approximate location and the margin of error more precise than it used to. You don't even need to download a new version of Google Maps for it, because the new algoritm runs on Google's own servers.

So if you're lost and you don't have a GPS, Google Maps can make you a little less lost.
